Cote de Nuits Village Captures the Essence of the VILLAGES
Continuing on with my general and unending obsession with Pinot Noir, and especially Pinot Noir from Burgundy, and especially Pinot Noir from Burgundy from the Cote de Nuits, tonight’s choice is darn near perfect in so many ways.

First - it’s from the CdN, and carries a lovely aromatic expression incapsulating both floral and fruit driven notes (deep rose petal and ripe raspberries), but also well balanced acidity and a mouth filling feel on the palate that is a result of that lifting acid mixed with gentle tannins, and backed by an alomost jammy style of fruit.
Second, this wine is a value when you compare to buying any village level wine on its own. Kermit Lynch is the importer, and on their website, thewine is listed in the 2015 vintage for $32. That may seem a little pricey but in relative terms to any village level CdN wine, you are basically talking + $50, in most cases.
Lastly, this wine is just good. We had with a simple dinner of bread and cheese with some legumes, and it was easy. There is a lush mouthfeel, that could easily be mistaken for a 1er cru wine, and the fruit is lingering. This wine scores high on all notes, and my only wish is that I had more.
