Somm Summ 13-01-08: Renwood Zinfandel Fiddletown, 2010

Here is a lovely, slightly rustic, bold but very tasty Zin. I have long been a fan of the Fiddlehead wine region zins and other reds. These wines show depth, black, earthy fruit flavors with a dense backbone, but not raisiny like hotter climate wines. Drinkable with food which I do not so much with a lot of zins.

At first a bit closed but opens quicky and drinks well, especially in cold weather and with braised meats.
