Rasteau promoted to AOC - decanter.com - the route to all good wine

This has been a longtime coming. I have always enjoyed the wines from the village of Rasteau whenever I have tasted them and have considered them to be every bit as good as those from Vacqueyras and BEaume de VEnise, but perhaps not quite up to the standards of most CdP or Gigondas. Perhaps one day the French will create a Grand Cru system in the Rhone isolating the very best vineyards - I can't imagine how long that would take to get approved, if ever, though.
