(Rioja Alavesa) Tasted this wine today with a bunch of other selections. Not too many 2001 Rioja still easily available and as lively as this one. Great fruit, depth of flavor and color. Dry style with balanced acidity. They use a bit of French oak to keep the wines freshness and extend the life. Quite good. 1/3, about $28.
