To filter or not to filter

Interesting article on a critical winemaking topic. Depending on what you are really looking for in a wine filtration can be important - the vast majority of wines produced are filtered to some degree - you almost have to. Generally speaking much smaller productions by very hands on producers will be the only wines that have no filtration used as it can be a bit of a gamble in the long run. The results though can be quite good and (hopefully) more authentic "tastes" can emerge (remain) in the wine.
