2004, Allegrini Valpolicella Classico d.o.c.

Really deep garnet / ruby red with just a slight faint to the edges. Dusty aromatics with loads of white chocolate and cherry flavors on the nose; a bit of heat but not too much. On the palate this wine is very smooth, almost velvety, and just flows over the tongue leaving just a slight dryness on the back; opens-up with great fruit and pepper spice - the ripe, sweet cherry fruit continues well through the palate flavors and on to the finish which goes on to a medium-long length; loads of fruit, white pepper flavors and a medium to big style through the finish. Good wine - especially for pizza, pasta and grilled meats. I liked this very much.
